The United War Work Campaign was organized at the request of President Woodrow Wilson when the United States entered World War I. Seven organizations, including the Young Men's and Women's Christian Associations and the American Library Association, joined forces to raise funds for American troops. Posters like this one served as pictorial publicity and helped motivate the home front effort.
